Kevin Kolb Doing The Eagles Dirty And I Love It

Yahoo - Kevin Kolb didn't suit up for the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, but he played a key role in the team's upset victory over his former team, the Philadelphia Eagles. The injured Cardinals quarterback, who was traded from Philadelphia in the offseason, was able to recognize some of Michael Vick's(notes) play-calls during the game and relay that information to his defensive teammates. Kolb told 94 WIP: "During the two-minute drill, you almost feel guilty. Mike's sitting there giving the signals, and I'm standing there on our sidelines, screaming at our corners, 'Hey it's a go ball, hey he's running a screen, hey he's running a slant.' How much of an effect do I really have? I'm screaming to one guy. He may hear me, he may not. Luckily for us at that point, the crowd was pretty dead and some of our guys could maybe hear it."

I fucking love it. I mean how arrogant is Andy Reid? I mean he has every right to be, he's a proven winner. Just dominates the NFL to the tune of playoff collapses and zero Super Bowl's not to mention his doppelganger is a walrus. I mean if my kids were coke heads and sent to prison for being white trash drug addicts I'd be arrogant and cocky as shit also. I know if my starting QB from the prior season was coming to play my team, last thing I would think about is changing the QB's audibles and hang signals, no fucking way would that ever cross my mind. I'd just assume Kevin Kolb is an okay fella who would never try to gain an advantage for his 14 point underdog team, he'd just sit back and get embarrassed on his return trip to his former team, sure.

Week 6: Feeling Really Good About These Picks (MSpici)

Pretty boring Week 5 (1-1-1) keeps me at a game over .500 on the season. That’s not going to get it done. I need a huge week, and I think these three games offer some money-making opportunities. The picks:

Eagles PK: This game is for Philly’s season. If Michael Vick cannot lead his team to victory in DC on Sunday, we can start talking about the version 2012 Dream Team because the 2011 one will be finished. It’s impossible to come back from a 1-5 start and still make the playoffs. In my “11 Things” column, I somewhat boldly predicted the Eagles will make the playoffs which means I think they are going to win this game.

Bears -3: I am not a defensive coordinator but what is stopping the Bears from putting nine guys in the box to shut down AP and forcing Donovan McNabb to beat them? I can’t think of a single thing. Chicago got embarrassed on MNF by a top-5 team in the league. I don’t think they will let a bottom-5 team do the same thing to them on national television this week.

Packers -15: The best team in the league is playing at home against the worst team in the league. This spread should be closer to three touchdowns than two. The only thing I can see working in the Rams’ favor is they are coming off a bye week. Unfortunately, they didn’t get a new team during that bye so I’m guessing they’ll still suck.

Is 6 touchdowns too aggressive of a prediction for this guy on Sunday?

Reaction: Giants 29, Eagles 16

Lot of talk going into this game, pretty standard. The Giants wanted Vick to play which was absolutely loony tunes, but they got what they asked for and beat the living shit out of him. Every time they play I get extremely nervous, but the Giants seem to have the scheme to handle him. Even in the embarrassing collapse that I'm going to forever blame on Matt Dodge, they manhandled Vick for 3 1/2 quarters. They had a 21 point lead and let their foot off the gas with their shitty prevent defense which allowed Vick to do what he wanted. When they attack him, they dominate, they force him to make stupid decisions and they lay pipe on him on virtually every play.

I'll give credit to Aaron Ross for stepping up and deciding to play like a former 1st round pick along with the rest of the secondary for playing well. But obviously the MVP's of the game was the entire defensive line. Playing without their #1 draft pick at corner and without Osi Umenyiora, they continue to get pressure at will. Jason Pierre-Paul is an absolute man child. He racked up another 2 sacks while laying some legit hits on Vick. I have no problem saying Julius Peppers Jr. will be the best defensive end in football within 3 years.

Eli Manning was for once, not retarded with the ball. Since his first quarter INT last Monday night against the Rams, he's looked pretty good. I still don't love him but if he can stay consistent it literally changes the complexion of games for the Giants. If they had any turnovers against the Eagles we'd be talking about a loss right now, not a huge win. The fact he was able to do it minus the free agent losses aka his security blankets (Steve Smith and Kevin Boss) and without his #2 and #3 receivers (Mario Manningham and Domenik Hixon) is extremely impressive. Going up against what people think is the most talented secondary in the NFL, Manning was pretty much flawless with his #1, #4 and #5 receivers. He used his RB's as targets to mix shit up and Jacobs and Bradshaw each caught a pass for a TD. Big ups to Victor Cruz, dude torched the Eagles for 2 TD's including one over the most overrated corner in history - Nnamdi Asomugha.

Next week the Giants travel to Arizona to face a sneaky Cardinals team. I don't care if they're good or not, any team with Larry Fitzgerald on it scares me. If the Giants can keep their foot on the gas and not sleep walk through this game, they'll be moving into week five 3-1 and at the top of the NFC East. The fact they can win with the amount of injuries they've sustained is nothing short of remarkable. If they can somehow keep it going until Umenyiora and Prince are healthy, they'll have two more defensive weapons ready for the gauntlet second half schedule where they face something like 24 of the last 15 Super Bowl Champions.

Pretty sure in games that Ahmad Bradshaw starts power spiking the ball all over the field the Giants are something like 93-0. You know what else helps? Having Brandon Jacobs immitating Hakeem Nicks, Eli not being an idiot but still looking retarded, and Victor Cruz making Nnamdi Asomugha look like an undrafted rookie free agent. All I know is Cruz missile better have a 99 break tackle rating in Madden '13. Just racking up the YAC on the 74 yarder. Also helps that Nnamdi can't tackle for shit. Nothing like blanketing a guy with help from the safety and still having him out jump you and score on your ass.

Look of course this is going to sound like a complete lie because I haven't been blogging for more than 10 minutes so there's no record of this.... But I've been saying it for a long time that Asomugha is the most over-hyped player since LeBron. Guy got 28 balls thrown at him last season, zero INT's and 5 passes defended and this guy is good? How can anyone know if he's good unless you throw at him? Giants threw at him yesterday and guy looked pretty average to me. I looked up some stats to back up my point to show I'm a boss and look at this shit:

When quarterbacks threw at Nnamdi in 2010, they had a passer rating of 98.1 versus a 32.3 rating against Revis.

The thing that's more impressive about that, is Revis always lines up against the other teams #1 guy, no matter where he lines up. Nnamdi only stays on the left side of the field, so whoever he gets is who he covers. How's that make him better? It doesn't. Guy is the most overrated player in football, and it's not even close. Boom roasted.

Reaction: Giants 28, Rams 16

My first reaction is, my predicted score of Giants 31 Rams 17 would've looked a hell of a lot better if Tom Coughlin for some inexplicable reason didn't decide to punt the ball from the Rams 30 yard line with 2:08 remaining. A 47-yard field goal there makes it 31-16 and I'm pretty much dead on. I'm considering 99% of normal humans would've kicked a field goal there, so I'm going to go ahead and say my prediction was dead on and the score was really 31-16. I'm absolutely killing it with my predictions.

As for the other prediction of Manningham going for 6 catches and 125 with 2 scores, let's ask Eli about that. If Eli knew how to lead a receiver, Manningham would have honestly had 2 TD's in the first quarter. Eli horribly under threw him both times, one resulting in an interception (weird). Then the 3rd opportunity for a TD we can only blame Manningham for tripping on the 25 yard line, almost dropping a ball that hit him right in the hands and also giving himself a concussion in the process. That spelled the end of my fantasy week, my prediction and Manningham's night. Had Eli known how to throw the ball, he would've overshot my projections for him - let's say he caught all 3 of those passes in stride - that would've been 3 catches for 158 yards and 3 scores. Sure that's wishful thinking, but any average quarterback in the NFL could have made those throws. Anyway, on to the game:

Bet Your Beer Money On It Week 1 Picks

Alright, it's week 1 - Probably the toughest week to predict. So many things can happen, so many teams will surprise, but these are the three games I refuse to believe will defy recent history.


Kansas City -7

The Bills are a joke, always have been. They even made going to 4 straight Super Bowls comical and unrespectable. I love Kansas City at home and love their running game. I think they dominate time of possession and use their underrated defense to do work on a weak Bills offense. Wouldn’t even count out Eric Berry for a pick 6 in this one.

Detroit +1

I don’t know when Tampa Bay started getting all this respect, but I’m not on their bandwagon. I am however on Detroit’s. They have a ton of young talent that’s been together for a while now. They show glimpses of it, but can’t seem to stay healthy long enough to reap any benefits from it. Right now everyone is healthy and they have a seriously scary defensive front. I cover my eyes when I watch Ndamukong Suh play, he scares me. I think they handle Tampa’s running game and force Josh Freeman into some mistakes that he forgot to make his rookie year. Detroit used to be an awful road team, but those days are behind them, this is a very talented young team.

I know that Peyton Manning is out, but Houston is a 10 point favorite over the Colts. The Eagles are preseason favorites to reach the Super Bowl and only 4 point favorites on the Rams? On turf? With two of the fastest most explosive play makers in the league? Yeah I’ll take the dynamic offense in a dome on turf against a shaky defense every day of the week and twice on Sunday’s. Double the spread I’m still taking Philly.

So since all this shit has been going on with the Eagles I've had to endure all the hot garbage coming out of my friends mouths from Philly. Expected, sure, but it all had to happen the weekend I'm going there? Just my luck. Should make for an etertaining weekend of drunk debating about how the Giants aren't really that bad and that the Eagles still will end the season with 0 Super Bowls in their history. I plan on constantly blogging on one of their computers while downloading massive amounts of gay porn and viruses on their shit.
