Is Rex Grossman on Drugs?

Link from NFC East blogger Dan Graziano over on ESPN.com:

"Rex Grossman isn't even guaranteed the starting quarterback's job for the Redskins, but he still believes the team is capable of big things. He tells CSN Washington, "This offense, from top to bottom, is better than the offense I had in Chicago," the year he and the Bears went to the Super Bowl, and, "I know we're going to be a good team. We don't need people saying we're the best right now, but when all is said and done, I really feel we're going to win the East." So that's Rex's prediction, folks. Do with it what you will."

Is this guy kidding me? He's barely got a shot to be the backup quarterback and he's popping off at the mouth in the toughest division in football?? Okay the Giants and Cowboys are being overlooked while the Eagles sign every Pro-Bowler in the NFL, but trust me the Redskins are not. They're picked dead last in ever preseason ranking I've seen and that's exactly where they should be. Guess what Rex, that Bears offense didn't get you to the Super Bowl - the defense carried that team, all you had to do was sit on the ball and wait for Devin Hester to return a couple punts to put some points on the board. Some balls for a guy that hasn't seen the field since he lost the Super Bowl for his team throwing INT's all over the place like they were a good thing or something. I'll give the Redskins defense some credit with some decent pickups and a solid LB core, but what is this guy smoking about their offense being talented?? Oh yeah huge pick up with that Donte Stallworth signing, immense talent - if getting high and drunk and running people over is a talent you need to dominate on offense. I think the Redskins signed about 34 wide receivers post-lockout, not one of them being a difference maker on an NFL roster. Weak offensive line, weak WR's, inconsistent TE and another platoon of RB's. Sounds like a division winner.
